Do not simply stop payment without checking the contract. Review the specifications, inspection terms, delivery provisions and rights concerning rejection or cure.

Document the discrepancy immediately and notify the supplier in accordance with the contract. Your right to withhold payment may depend on the agreement and seriousness of the breach.
